Lilliums and other flowers
Wanted to show you the other beautiful flowers in my garden at the moment. Its looking just beautiful, especially my Mackay garden (there is a garden bed under my pergola, which i planted with bromeliads, hibiscus, anthriums and other indoor plants, it reminds me of my sister and the gardens up in Qld).
Enjoy the lilliums, coleus, fuschias and other flowers.

Tuberous Begonia's
My tuberous begonias are flowering at the moment and are looking just wonderful.
I have been fertilising, watering and looking after them, just to have the great show they are now putting on. One still has not flowering yet and I can't remember what colour its flowers are.
Enjoy the photos, they are even more beautiful when you view them for real.

African Violets
My African Violets look absolutely amazing, they love the dappled light sitting near the window looking outside trying to obtain some sunlight, but not too much just in case its too much.
Here they are all together and when they were much younger plants. The two variegated leave varieties have been grown from leave cuttings which I bought from an African Violet show at Mt Waverley about two years ago.
The other african violet has miniature flowers and leaves and is very cute.
The plant with the long leaves I think is a Gesneriaceae. Will need to confirm and repost later what its really called.
I water and feed my African Violets once a week with a weak African violet specific nutrient food mix. All of my African Violets are fed via a wick that sits in the small container of nutrient weak water, I don't actually water the soil that they sit in, rather I place the water in the container that they sit on. I will post how I assemble these next time, but firstly I need to take some photos of these.
Hope you enjoy the photos.

Autumn 2010
Finally pulled most of my summer veggies, only cucumber left in the garden and the vlita ( I have no idea what they are called in english). I should post a photo of them up on this site. I will do this in the next day or so.. I will have to upload photos from my phone to share with you my summer veggies. But alas the bluetooth is not working. But there are other ways to add photos..

February 2010 - Mackay Botanical Gardens in Jan 2010
Decided to show some flowers and tress from the Mackay Botanical Gardens. I love the flame tree, the colour is absolutely amazing, vibrant, brilliant and breath taking. The green tree frog was found on our friends place at Strathdickie, a short drive from Airlie Beach, the frog is huge and is actually on Con's (my hubby) forearm. I will place more photos up.

Summer 2010
Its been a long time between posts. Its not that I haven't been taking photos or keeping busy in the garden, its just that I have been placing photos up on facebook. It seems that not many look at my garden blog. Which I feel is a shame. As you do get a better view of the photos on here as compared to FB.

Garden in Autumn 2009
Its been a while since I have posted photos on my garden blog, with the extremely hot weather over the summer, I did not take many photos of my garden, it was looking very sick, with many leaves falling off the the shrubs. Included in the list was my white camellia, rhododendron and azaleas. Luckily I did not lose any shrubs, and my roses still survived and looked just fine, especially after the rain came in early autumn.
Hope you enjoy the photos.

Chooks in the Garden
Oh no, what was I thinking. I love the chickens and the fact that we now get fresh eggs, three every day, one from each of them. But they love to scratch and fossick around my garden beds and make a mess. One of my begonias is not looking at its best at the moment, I cannot believe that they have trampled one of my miniature cyclamens as well. I think the only thing to do is to not let them out of the chook run, unless they are supervised.
Enjoy the photos of the latest addition to the Bletas family pets.
